Jessica Pegula Offers Private Jet Ride to Fellow Players After ATX Open Victory

American tennis star Jessica Pegula showed her generosity after winning the ATX Open by offering a special gift to her fellow players: a private jet ride to California.

After defeating McCartney Kessler in straight sets on Sunday to claim her seventh WTA Tour title in Austin, Texas, Pegula invited other players competing in the tournament to join her on the roughly 1,200-mile flight to California for the upcoming Indian Wells event.

The group waited until the women’s doubles final concluded before departing, saving the players from late-night transfers or flights from Dallas or Houston.

“She could have left right after her singles match, but she’s so generous and thoughtful,” said Zhang Shuai, a Chinese player who was part of the women’s doubles final, in an Instagram post. Zhang expressed her gratitude by sharing the love for Pegula, to which Pegula responded, “You’re too cute.”

Anna Blinkova, another doubles finalist, also expressed her thanks, sharing Zhang’s post with the message: “Thank you, Jessie, for your kindness and generosity.”

World No. 4 Pegula, the daughter of Buffalo Bills’ billionaire owners Terry and Kim Pegula, has a bye in the first round at Indian Wells and will play her opening match on Friday.

Her win at the ATX Open marked her first title since August of the previous year.
