The first teams to participate are the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, and San Francisco 49ers. Each club will debut its custom Nike-designed uniform during a single home game against a division rival. These Rivalries games are scheduled throughout the 2025 season, starting with Cardinals vs. Seahawks on September 25, and culminating in the 49ers facing the Seahawks on January 4, 2026.
According to Taryn Hutt, NFL vice president of club marketing, “The unveiling of the first eight Rivalries club uniforms and fan gear marks a significant moment for the NFL, Nike, and Fanatics, as creativity and innovation merge together to deliver a new take on what it means to be a rival.” Ryan Airhart, Nike’s director of NFL apparel product design, emphasized that each uniform was created in close collaboration with its respective club to authentically reflect the identity of its team, fans, and city.
Among the standout reveals, the San Francisco 49ers introduced an all-black kit with red stripes, gold-outlined numbers, and a unique midnight black helmet. The design was influenced by player input and local heritage. Tight end George Kittle, involved in the process, highlighted the helmet as a personal favorite. “I feel violent when we wear all black,” Kittle said, noting the edge it brings to rivalry games.
The new Rivalries uniforms will be part of each team’s kit rotation for three seasons, supplementing existing alternates. Additional Rivalries uniforms for other teams are planned for 2026, 2027, and 2028. Fans will be able to purchase the Rivalries jerseys, apparel, headwear, and collectible helmets starting September 10 at Nike.com, NFLShop.com, Fanatics.com, Riddell.com, team stores, and select international retailers. Distribution will extend to fans in Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Australia.
The Rivalries program also includes limited-edition collaborations with local brands and digital integration into Madden 26, where fans will see in-game experiences featuring the new uniforms and stadium themes.
This launch marks a new chapter in NFL fan culture, blending on-field competition with community identity and giving supporters new ways to express their allegiance.
