Utah wasted no time establishing control, scoring two first-quarter touchdowns via a 13-yard run by W. Parker and an 8-yard run from S. Snowden. Dampier continued the momentum in the second quarter, connecting with L. Barton for a 14-yard touchdown pass. UCLA responded with a 19-yard touchdown pass from Nico Iamaleava to A. Woods, but struggled to find consistency throughout the game.
The Utes outgained the Bruins 492 to 220 in total yards and held the ball for nearly 38 minutes. Dampier finished with 206 passing yards (21/25, 2 TDs) and added 87 yards on the ground with a rushing touchdown. Utah’s defense forced one turnover and limited UCLA to just 14 first downs, while Utah converted 14 of 17 third-down attempts.
In the second half, Utah continued to pull away, with Dampier running in for a short touchdown and later throwing a 2-yard scoring pass to D. Bentley. N. Rogers capped the scoring with a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter. The Bruins, led by Iamaleava (136 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT), struggled against Utah’s defense and managed only one touchdown and a field goal.
This result continues Utah’s recent dominance in the series, with the Utes now holding 10 wins to UCLA’s 12 since their first meeting in 1933, but Utah has been the stronger program over the past 15 years. Looking ahead, Utah will host Cal Poly in their next game on September 6, 2025.
