TCU Dominates North Carolina in Season Opener
TCU delivered a commanding performance in the season opener, defeating the North Carolina Tar Heels 48-14 and handing Bill Belichick a tough loss in his college coaching debut. The Horned Frogs scored 41 unanswered points, overwhelming UNC in front of a home crowd in Chapel Hill.

TCU’s defense set the tone early, with Bud Clark intercepting a pass for a first-half pick-six. The momentum continued after halftime, as Kevorian Barnes broke free for a 75-yard touchdown run on the opening play of the second half, further widening the gap.

The Horned Frogs capitalized on turnovers and showcased a balanced attack, putting the game out of reach before the fourth quarter. Despite high expectations surrounding Bill Belichick‘s first year with the Tar Heels, UNC struggled on both sides of the ball and was unable to respond to TCU’s relentless pressure.

With this result, TCU starts their season on a high note, while North Carolina faces an early setback under their new head coach.
