Los Angeles Rams Dominate New Orleans Saints with 34-10 Victory
The Los Angeles Rams delivered a commanding 34-10 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 9 of the 2025 NFL season at SoFi Stadium. Quarterback Matthew Stafford starred for the Rams, throwing for 281 yards and four touchdowns as Los Angeles improved to 6-2, while New Orleans slipped to 1-8. Rookie quarterback Tyler Shough made his first NFL start for the Saints, replacing Spencer Rattler after a run of disappointing offensive performances. Shough completed 15 of 24 passes for 176 yards, including his first career touchdown — an 11-yard strike to Juwan Johnson just before halftime — but also threw a late interception. The Saints struggled to gain any momentum as the Rams controlled possession, holding the ball for nearly 44 minutes and running 75 plays to New Orleans’ 51. The Saints managed only three snaps in the first 17 minutes of the second half, highlighting the Rams’ dominance. Stafford’s veteran poise was on full display, connecting with Davante Adams for two touchdowns and Puka Nacua for another. Nacua, returning from an ankle injury, finished with seven catches for 95 yards, including a spectacular 39-yard touchdown. Tight end Tyler Higbee also found the end zone on the opening drive, capping it with a Dodgers-inspired celebration. Running back Kyren Williams contributed 114 rushing yards and a touchdown, marking the Rams’ first 100-yard rushing game of the season. On defense, Los Angeles was equally impressive, limiting the Saints to just 224 total yards and forcing a key fumble from Alvin Kamara. Cornerback Emmanuel Forbes sealed the victory with a late interception. The Rams’ defense has now held their last three opponents to a combined 20 points. For New Orleans, Rashid Shaheed led receivers with five catches for 68 yards, while Taysom Hill was the top rusher with 30 yards on four carries. Kamara was limited to 14 yards and lost a fumble. The Saints’ offense was unable to sustain drives, particularly in the second half, as Los Angeles dominated time of possession. Looking ahead, the Saints will travel to face the Carolina Panthers next Sunday, while the Rams visit the San Francisco 49ers as they continue to chase the NFC West title.
