Devils Announce Jack Hughes Will Miss Remainder of Season After Shoulder Surgery

The New Jersey Devils have confirmed that star forward Jack Hughes will miss the rest of the 2024-25 season following successful shoulder surgery.

According to the team’s press release, after thorough assessments and discussions with Hughes, his family, representatives, and the Devils’ medical team, it was decided that surgery would be the best course of action. The procedure was successfully carried out earlier today by Dr. Peter Millett at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado.

Hughes is expected to fully recover and be ready for the 2025 New Jersey Devils Training Camp.

The 2019 first-overall pick had an impressive 2024-25 campaign, tallying 70 points with 27 goals and 43 assists in 62 games. He also led the team with seven game-winning goals, including two in overtime.

As part of the roster adjustments, the Devils have placed Hughes on long-term injured reserve (LTIR).
