Boston Red Sox at Philadelphia Phillies Game Story, Scores/Highlights – 07/22/2025

Philadelphia’s Cristopher Sanchez delivered an outstanding performance, leading the Phillies to a 4-1 victory over the Boston Red Sox. Sanchez pitched a complete game, allowing only four hits and striking out 12 batters.

The left-hander retired the first nine Red Sox batters and allowed just one run, a solo home run by Rob Refsnyder in the fourth inning. Max Kepler and Kyle Schwarber each homered, contributing to the Phillies’ early four-run lead.

A highlight of the game was Bryce Harper’s successful steal of home, exploiting a balk call against the Red Sox. This play, alongside another catcher’s interference involving Carlos Narvaez, marked the second consecutive game with unusual interference calls benefiting the Phillies.

The Red Sox, who entered the game on a strong winning streak, struggled against Sanchez’s dominant pitching. Their starting pitcher, Richard Fitts, was unable to contain the Phillies’ offense, conceding four runs and six hits in just over three innings.

The teams will face off again with Boston’s Lucas Giolito set to pitch against Philadelphia’s Jesús Luzardo.
