The Fever played without star guard Caitlin Clark, who is out until at least August 12. Despite her absence, Indiana established an early lead and maintained control throughout the contest.
Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever with 32 points, efficiently running the offense and providing much-needed scoring. Aliyah Boston contributed a double-double, finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Natasha Howard added 10 rebounds and played strong defense. Aari McDonald chipped in with 5 assists, orchestrating the backcourt.
For Dallas, rookie Paige Bueckers was a bright spot, scoring 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting and hitting all five of her free throws. Arike Ogunbowale added 16 points, but the Wings struggled to find offensive consistency, shooting just 42.9% from the field and failing to make a three-pointer.
Indiana’s defense proved decisive, forcing 10 turnovers and holding the Wings to only 16 rebounds, compared to the Fever’s 24. The Fever closed out the game with a 94-86 victory, building momentum as the regular season continues.
The Fever and Wings are both looking to secure better playoff positioning as the season enters its final stretch. Indiana’s win on the road strengthens their bid for a postseason spot, while Dallas will need to regroup to stay competitive in the Western Conference.
