Experience the Thrills of the 2025/26 English Premier League Season
The 2025/26 English Premier League season is underway, promising one of the most competitive campaigns in recent memory. With the return of packed stadiums and global audiences, the league features high-profile rivalries and world-class talent, setting the stage for a fierce title race and dramatic relegation battle.

Last season, Liverpool dominated under Arne Slot, securing the title as early as February after a decisive 2-0 win over Manchester City. However, this year is expected to be much closer. According to betting markets, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea are all strong contenders, each boasting significant squad improvements. Liverpool have added creative midfielder Florian Wirtz, Arsenal secured a new centre-forward in Viktor Gyokeres, Manchester United brought in striker Benjamin Sesko, and Chelsea have proven their quality with notable summer performances.

The influx of attacking talent is expected to boost the league’s goal output, following a slight dip last season when the average goals per game dropped to 2.93. The Premier League has also seen a surge in fast-break goals, with 775 counter-attacks recorded last season—almost double the 2018/19 figure. Liverpool led the league in this area, scoring 14 goals from fast breaks, highlighting the tactical shift towards transition play and quick wingers.

The battle to avoid relegation will be intense. Newly promoted sides Burnley, Sunderland, and Leeds have been tipped as relegation candidates, but history shows promoted clubs can survive if they make their home stadiums difficult for visitors. Turf Moor, Elland Road, and the Stadium of Light are expected to be challenging venues this year, potentially leading to a tighter fight at the bottom of the table.

Squad depth and injuries played a key role last season, with several top clubs losing crucial players. This season, with no major summer tournament, key stars like Declan Rice, Phil Foden, Ollie Watkins, Cole Palmer, and Bukayo Saka are likely to be fresher, leveling the playing field.

As Jamie Carragher put it, “The Premier League is on a completely different level to anything else in world football.” With more than 200 live games scheduled and the league’s global appeal stronger than ever, the 2025/26 season is set to deliver memorable moments and a title race worthy of the “G.O.A.T” label.
