Cadillac Joins Formula 1® Championship in 2026 with Star Drivers
Cadillac has officially announced its entry into the FIA Formula One World Championship, debuting as the Cadillac Formula 1® Team on the grid in 2026. The American manufacturer, backed by General Motors, is set to become Formula 1’s 11th team, bringing a bold new vision and technological innovation to the sport.

The team has confirmed a high-profile driver line-up for its inaugural season, signing Grand Prix winners Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas on multi-year contracts. Between them, Perez and Bottas have 527 Grand Prix starts and 16 race victories, adding significant experience and leadership to the new squad. The announcement was made ahead of the 2025 Miami Grand Prix, where the team also unveiled its new logo, signaling its intent to establish a strong identity from the outset.

Led by former Marussia Sporting Director Graeme Lowdon, the team is building a foundation with world-class talent and cutting-edge facilities. Perez, who previously raced for Sauber, McLaren, Force India/Racing Point, and Red Bull Racing—helping secure the Teams’ Championship in 2022 and 2023—expressed excitement about joining a project with deep ambition and American motorsport legacy. Bottas, known for his pivotal role in Mercedes’ championship successes from 2017 to 2021, highlighted the long-term vision and professionalism already present within the organization.

Cadillac’s entry, in partnership with TWG Motorsports, marks a significant expansion of American presence in Formula 1. GM President Mark Reuss described the move as the beginning of a bold new chapter for both Cadillac and U.S. motorsport, emphasizing the team’s commitment to performance excellence and innovation.

As the 2026 season approaches, all eyes will be on the Cadillac Formula 1 Team to see how quickly it can adapt and compete at the highest level of motorsport. For more details, visit the official Formula 1 announcement and follow team updates on their social media platforms.
