With the win, Indiana moved into sixth place in the WNBA standings, passing the Seattle Storm with just five games remaining in the regular season. The Fever, now 21-18, hold a half-game lead over Seattle (21-19) as the playoff race intensifies. The Sparks, at 17-20, dropped two games behind the Golden State Valkyries for the final postseason spot.
The game was tight throughout. Azura Stevens put Los Angeles ahead 75-74 with a free throw in the final minute, but Odyssey Sims responded, scoring the Fever’s last five points, including the go-ahead basket with 13.6 seconds left. Boston then intercepted a pass from Kelsey Plum with just 1.9 seconds on the clock, sealing the win for Indiana. Kelsey Mitchell, who averages 20.7 points per game, added 12 for the Fever. Aliyah Boston became only the second player in franchise history to post at least 15 points, 10 rebounds, and five steals in a single contest.
For Los Angeles, Stevens led with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Plum and Rae Burrell each contributed 12 points. The Sparks, who had won all three previous meetings with Indiana this season, committed 22 turnovers, including the costly one in the final seconds.
Indiana’s rookie star Caitlin Clark was absent due to a right groin injury. The win strengthens the Fever’s playoff position as they look to build momentum in the final stretch of the regular season.
