Brewers fan faces consequences after ‘call ICE’ remark during NLCS game
A confrontation during the National League Championship Series (NLCS) game at American Family Field escalated beyond baseball when a Milwaukee Brewers fan made an immigration-related remark to a Latino Los Angeles Dodgers supporter. The incident, recorded by Dodgers fan and U.S. Navy veteran Ricardo Fosado, went viral and resulted in the Brewers fan, later identified as Shannon Kobylarczyk, losing her positions on the Make-A-Wish Wisconsin board and at her law firm. Fosado attended Game 2 of the NLCS on October 15, where he was one of the few Dodgers fans present. According to Fosado, after the Dodgers took the lead, the atmosphere shifted. During a heated exchange, Kobylarczyk told him, “let’s call ICE,” referencing U.S. immigration authorities. Fosado, a U.S. citizen and military veteran, responded by asserting his citizenship and service record. The video quickly spread across social media, prompting swift consequences. Make-A-Wish Wisconsin confirmed that Kobylarczyk resigned from its board, and her employer, ManpowerGroup, announced her termination after an internal review. In a statement, ManpowerGroup emphasized its commitment to respect and accountability. Fosado himself was ejected from the stadium in the seventh inning after admitting he swore during the confrontation. He has since requested a ticket refund from the Milwaukee Brewers, though the team has not commented publicly. Game 2 ended with a Dodgers victory. The NLCS series continued with Game 3 scheduled at Dodger Stadium on October 16. For further coverage, see the original report on FOX6 News Milwaukee and follow updates from Ricardo Fosado.
