Golden Knights Edge Bruins in High-Scoring Thriller, Extend Point Streak
In a high-scoring clash at T-Mobile Arena, the Vegas Golden Knights edged out the Boston Bruins 6-5, extending their season-opening point streak to five games. William Karlsson led Vegas with two goals, including a shorthanded tally late in the second period and a power-play marker early in the third, pushing the Golden Knights to a 6-3 lead before Boston mounted a late comeback.

Vegas displayed offensive depth throughout the night. Karlsson was joined on the scoresheet by Pavel Dorofeyev, who registered his league-leading sixth goal of the season, as well as Cole Reinhardt and Tomas Hertl. Jack Eichel added a goal and an assist, reaching 11 points in five games—a franchise record for points through the opening five contests. Captain Mark Stone recorded three assists and now leads the NHL with nine assists.

The Bruins struck first with an early goal from Tanner Jeannot, but the Golden Knights responded quickly. Nikita Zadorov and David Pastrnak contributed goals for Boston, with Mark Kastelic and Mikey Eyssimont scoring in the third period to narrow the deficit. Boston’s bottom six forwards stepped up, combining for six points and keeping the game close until the final horn. Goaltender Jeremy Swayman made 31 saves for the Bruins, while Akira Schmid stopped 19 shots for Vegas.

Vegas showed resilience despite a scare when Eichel took a puck off his skate late in the second period; he returned for the third. The Golden Knights’ special teams were pivotal, producing both power-play and shorthanded goals. For Boston, Sean Kuraly and Eyssimont each had two-point nights, and the team’s fourth line earned praise from head coach Marco Sturm for their consistent play.

This victory brings the Golden Knights’ record to 3-0-2, while the Bruins fall to 3-2-0. Vegas will look to continue their strong start as they host the Calgary Flames next. Historically, the Golden Knights have built a reputation for fast starts and dynamic offense, and this season appears no different—led by standout performances from Eichel, Karlsson, and Dorofeyev.
