Missouri Edges Auburn 23-17 in Thrilling Double Overtime
No. 16 Missouri edged out Auburn 23-17 in double overtime on Saturday night at Jordan-Hare Stadium, extending Auburn’s winless streak in SEC play to four games. The decisive moment came when Beau Pribula scored on a 3-yard run during the second overtime, sealing the win for Missouri.

Pribula led Missouri (6-1, 2-1 SEC) with 252 passing yards, though he was intercepted twice, and added 28 yards on the ground, including the game-winning touchdown. Running back Ahmad Hardy contributed 58 rushing yards and two touchdowns, including a crucial 3-yard score with 5:07 remaining in regulation to tie the game at 17.

Auburn (3-4, 0-4 SEC) struck first with Jackson Arnold’s 1-yard touchdown run, but struggled to maintain momentum offensively. Arnold finished with 207 passing yards, one touchdown, and his first interception of the season. Jeremiah Cobb led the Auburn ground attack with 111 yards, while Cam Coleman notched 108 receiving yards on six catches.

Both teams had opportunities to win in overtime. Auburn’s Alex McPherson missed a field goal on the first possession, his third miss of the night. Missouri’s Blake Craig also missed a potential game-winner in the first overtime. In the second OT, Pribula’s touchdown gave Missouri the lead, and the Tigers’ defense stopped Auburn on fourth down to clinch the victory.

This win marks Missouri’s first road test of the season, coming after a home loss to Alabama. With the victory, Missouri could climb higher in the next AP Top 25 College Football Poll. Auburn, under head coach Hugh Freeze, continues to search for answers on offense and remains winless in conference play.

Missouri will travel to face No. 17 Vanderbilt next Saturday, while Auburn heads to Arkansas for their next matchup.
