Exclusive: Besir Iseni Agrees Livingston Transfer

Besir Iseni has agreed a pre-contract deal to join Livingston in the Scottish Championship upon the expiry of his contract with KF Dukagjini, with the move subject to international clearance and a work permit, R.org exclusively understands.

The Lions won the race to sign the 26-year-old amid interest from several Scottish Premiership clubs, as well as MTK Budapest, NK Osijek and NK Istra 1961. The center-back is set to sign a two-year deal at Almondvale Stadium, according to R.org sources.

Livingston presented the Skopje-born defender with an attractive offer from both a financial and sporting perspective, which swayed the player’s decision in their favor.

Iseni is set to become one of the key players in Glenn Whelan’s squad as Livingston bids to secure immediate promotion back to the Scottish Premiership. The former North Macedonia U21 international is capable of playing both center-back and left-back, with pace, build-up play, and composure among his biggest strengths.

The left-footed center-back is coming to Scotland on the back of an excellent season with KF Dukagjini in Kosovo, where he made 38 appearances across all competitions and helped the Klina-based club lift the Kosovar Cup.

Playing in the Scottish Championship will mark his first experience outside the Balkans.

Iseni turned down a move to HNK Gorica during the winter transfer window in the hope of securing a free transfer. The 26-year-old will now begin a new chapter in his career with Livingston.

The centre-back arrived in Scotland on July, 14 after being granted a UK work permit and visa, and the 26-year-old will undergo a medical examination over the next few days before completing his move to Livingston, according to R.org sources. The free agent is set to sign a two-year deal after leaving KF Dukagjini and will wear the Lions no. 21 shirt at Almondvale Stadium.
